The unfortunate knee injury which rendered middleweight UFC fighter Dan Henderson incapable of fighting in his September 1st meeting with Jon Jones has received plenty of backlash for the fighter. Some, including UFC president Dana White, felt that the injury was not sufficient reason to ultimately end in the cancellation of the show the week prior. Because of this incident, Henderson, who is now recuperating, is not given another shot at the Jones upon recovery. Now, Henderson is scheduled to fight Lyoto Machida, who declined the opportunity to fight Jones in Henderson’s place, later in the year.
Many feel that the incident has taken Henderson far out of reach of the title.
